Brow Lift In Dothan, AL

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure performed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and furrows in the forehead and produce a vibrant, younger-looking appearance that helps you look as good as you feel. This procedure is most commonly performed on patients between the ages of 40 and 70, but may also be performed on younger patients suffering from premature signs of aging.

Many patients choose to combine our Dothan Brow Lift with a facelift, or blepharoplasty for maximum results. Dr. Asher will take the time to develop a customized treatment plan for you based on your personal goals. When performed using endoscopic techniques, a brow lift produces noticeable results through a minimally invasive procedure.

An Outpatient Procedure

Brow Lift Procedure

A Brow Lift is performed in an outpatient facility under general anesthesia. In an endoscopic brow lift, several small incisions are made within the scalp, into which an endoscope and tiny surgical instruments are inserted. The skin in the forehead area is lifted, while excess fat, muscle and skin are removed to produce an improved, younger-looking appearance.

The incisions are then closed and the head is wrapped with a bandage. Stitches can be removed in about a week. The entire procedure takes two to three hours to perform, with patients able to return home the same day.

Recovery from Endoscopic Brow Lift Surgery

Brow Lift Recovery

After surgery, patients may experience mild discomfort and numbness, which can be managed with medication prescribed by your doctor. Some swelling may also occur, which usually subsides within a few days. With our endoscopic Brow Lift Dothan patients can expect considerably smaller incisions, less bruising, less scarring and faster recovery times than the conventional procedure. Most patients can return to work after just a few days, although physical activity should be avoided for longer.

Risks

Risks and Complications of Brow Lift Surgery

While a Brow Lift is considered a safe procedure, especially in the hands of an experienced plastic surgeon, there are certain risks and complications associated with any type of surgery. Some of these may include infection, bleeding, lack of sensation, scarring or an inability to move the eyebrows or forehead. These risks are considered rare and can be discussed in detail with Dr. Asher prior to surgery.
