Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid tucks, are very common in patients over 40. This is a procedure to remove fat, along with excess skin, from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and the puffy bags under the eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel.
The effect is to give the eyes a more rested, youthful look with a brighter appearance. Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both and can also be performed in conjunction with other facial procedures.
Brow Lift
A forehead lift or "browlift" is a procedure that restores a more youthful, refreshed, and cheery look to the forehead, eye brows and upper eyelid areas. By removing excess skin and muscle, the procedure corrects drooping brows, improves the horizontal lines and furrows that can make you look angry, sad or tired, and tightening the skin of the upper eyelid.
The incisions are well hidden along the frontal hairline or in the hair, and with the use of an endoscope (a small camera that allows the procedure to be performed with minimal incisions), the incisions are almost impossible to see. The particular type of incision to be used is dependent on your goals and desires. Also, a forehead lift is often performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) or a facelift to provide a smoother, overall balanced look to the eyes and face. Face Lift
As people grow older, the skin of the face begins to wrinkle and sag, with the help of gravity and time. Exposure to the sun, genetic influences and other factors can contribute to the effects of aging. A facelift can correct these conditions and give people a more youthful appearance. This procedure involves the tightening of facial and neck skin and muscles, as well as the removal of excess skin. Facelift incisions are placed in areas where they are minimally visible. The objective is to elevate the underlying structures and redrape the skin on the face in order to give a more youthful, healthy and rested appearance.
Neck Lift
A Neck Lift is a surgery designed to reduce the loose look of sagging skin in the neck area and under the jaw line. Some patients who complain of having a fleshy neck, "jowls", plastysma or neck "banding", or a "turkey waddle" can benefit from this procedure. Even if there is excess fat, liposuction alone will not produce the desired result. A full Neck Lift may be used to address problems with slack skin, slack neck muscles, or both. Most patients over 40 will require some surgical skin tightening.
Otoplasty
Protruding ears are a source of embarrassment for many people, especially children. The procedure to reposition protruding ears closer to the head is known as otoplasty . Because ears are near their adult size in a 5-year-old child, otoplasty can be performed at any time at or after age 5.
An incision on the back of the ear exposes the ear cartilage, which is then reshaped and sutured to properly shape the ear and position it closer to the head. An immediate and gratifying correction is achieved. Asymmetric ears can also be brought into symmetry with this technique.
